BMW is confident in saying that the next-gen M5 will give the current E63 a good run for its money.
Recently, journalists got their hands on the brand new AMG E63, with most of the reviews coming at us faster than ever, they can easily say that it is the best of its class. This, however, is now giving BMW more work to do, to ensure that the next-gen M5 is just as good, or even better.
The vice president of the M-divisions sales and marketing department, Peter Quintus, informingly says that they are prioritising straight-line performance and handling dynamics for the new super-saloon. He also hints that the car would be all-wheel drive like its german rival. He adds by saying that a 600+ HP rear-wheel drive car with ESP off is not easy to handle even if you are experienced, once again hinting all-wheel drive, but because of the brands' history of being rear-wheel drive, it is expected to be more rear-wheel drive biased.
The cars' expected power output could be around the 600 HP mark, rivalling that of the E63's. As for acceleration times, we are expecting 0-100 in around 3.3 seconds with the expected all-wheel drive system.
