Back in early October when rumours went around about Apple wanting to buy over McLaren, the automotive community couldn't believe what they had heard! Mike Flewitt, chief executive of McLaren confirmed that no bid was put down although they had talked.
He said that there were no bids placed. They talked. They toured but it never matured to a definitive proposition.
Numerous other bids were placed to take over the brand but were all turned down.
